Granted not all projects are enjoyable, but they can be. You're just making it arbitrary for no reason. Why is playing a game not like working on a project? You're working towards completing something you're interested in/enjoy. Trophy hunting is tedious to me but if you enjoy it, then do what you enjoy. If a game is fun to play, I will keep playing and the trophies will come as a “oh that’s a nice little bonus” but it is never the goal.Īgain, this is my own perspective. “Working” on achievements/trophies amounts to slugging through the motions and ticking boxes so that I can claim that I beat every inch of a game. The moment the game loses those two components, it becomes boring and trophies will not change that. I play to experience great gameplay and hopefully good stories. I have finished many fun games without chasing every single trophy. Also, No, finishing a game you enjoy does not equate to working on trophies. It might not be a popular view, but No, playing a game is not like working on a project, no matter how much I enjoy said project. I did say my comment was from my own view.
